The latest issue of HealthManagement.org – The Journal (Volume 25, Issue 5, 2025), focusing on Workforce Shortages, Retention and Burnout, includes an article by Diane Whitehouse, Editor-in-Chief and Principal eHealth Policy Analyst at the European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL), entitled “Building a Digitally Competent Workforce in Health and Care: Insights from European Regions”.
The article examines how European regions are strengthening digital skills, interprofessional collaboration and leadership within health and care workforces, drawing on concrete regional experiences and policy-driven initiatives.
Within this context, the article refers to the TEAMCARE project as an example of interdisciplinary and community-based approaches to training health and care teams. TEAMCARE’s interdisciplinary training framework is highlighted for its focus on collective leadership, interprofessional decision-making and the integration of digital tools into daily practice.
